Huginn and Muninn Arm Ring - Sterling Silver
If you love Viking history as much as we do, you have probably heard of Odin’s Ravens, Huginn and Muninn, but did you know that they are symbolism for the human mind? Well, they are, and as is often the case with Norse mythology, there is so much more wisdom to gain from this.
Huginn represented ‘Thought’ while ‘Muninn’ represented ‘Memory’. Most historians argue that the name ‘Muninn’ was derived from the Norse word ‘Munr’ as opposed to ‘Minni’, which is the Nordic word for memory. While most people would like to translate the word ‘Munr’ into ‘Desire’, in all truth, we have no word for it today. The word represents will, desire, enthusiasm, and passion. Therefore, together, the two ravens represented; intuition, passion, and will, and that is exactly what this bracelet embodies.
